| | Of the food variety, that is.
Don't get me wrong, I know how to cook and I've been cooking on and off since i was little. I never used to cook for food shoots before. I mostly had food clients from the different restaurants so they had their own cooks or chefs and I was the prop stylist who could help with presentation.
This shoot, for Unipak Sardines, is the first shoot ever that i was required to cook EVERYTHING from scratch. Being a canned good company, of course they didn't have cooks. They gave me samples of their canned and bottled goods before the shoot, and of course, I can't use them because they're cooked through and thus too soft. Since the photos are "serving suggestion" type, the best would be to cook the fish, et al, from fresh.
I love how everything turned out. I have to give thanks to one of their staff who helped in the cleaning, gutting and filleting of the different types of fish. She's a wizard with fish! Can you imagine cleaning and filleting the fish that becomes tuyo? Really small and thin and she did them perfectly! I'm in awe up to now.
Unipak doesn't advertise much in the Philippines because I THINK a majority of their sales are from exporting their products. They are available locally tho and I can guarantee that their factory is really clean because we shot there. The fish they use are fresh, and the contents of the cans are big cuts. If you want value for your money, buy their products. They have spicy variants that I love. :)
I will post more photos from this shoot as soon as I finish resizing them. I have six months worth of shoots I haven't uploaded. :/
Oh, and after this shoot, most of my food shoots now require me to cook. So my "hidden talent" (as Jay calls it) has been put to good use. :)

| | If it's for Mommy Academy (MA), I usually create the recipes, cook and style the food. I only do that for them, no one else.
As for the calendar photos, these are my personal picks.
